Description

The Cerro del Aguila was a 510 MW large hydro facility finaced in august of 2012. The principal project sponsor was Israel corporation, which held 75% of the project through it's subsidiary IC Power. Quimpac, a Peruvian chemicals frim, held the remaining 25% of equity in the project. The project had signed a 15 year PPA to sell power to the Peruvian state utility. In august 2012, the project successfully closed a USD 585 million project financing package with leading international development/commercial and local public banks to finance the project. Banco Interacional de Peru and Banco Credito de Peru noth provided USD 39 million packages. The Dutch bank FMO provided a USD 45 million loan and included in the commercial debt were Canad'as Scotiabank and HSBC. Tenors for the commercial debt were 12 years and public/development bank for 15 years. The non-commercial debt was priced at roughly 500 bps over LIBOR.
