Description
Description | Innovation of African VET in Agriculture-InnAVET aims at improving VET in Agriculture in Cameroon, Mali, and Burkina Faso to respond to market demands, to contribute to the development of the involved African territories, creating better job opportunities (formal or self-employment) and more environmentally friendly, and sustainable agricultural practices. It also aims to: • Increase visibility and quality of VET, through a closer and more effective collaboration with stakeholders at various levels. • Favour methodological innovation, by increasing WBL practices in the targeted African VET organisations, to bring VET closer to farms, and make VET more attractive • Support processes, activities, and practices for the professional development of managers and teaching staff in Africa, encouraging peer learning and active collaboration through communities of practice which can enhance future sustainability of InnAVET. The 3-year project involves 8 organisations (5 African and 3 European) from 5 different countries: Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Italy and Spain and it is strongly rooted in the SAAM-Supporting Alliance for African Mobility project. Main InnAVET activities are: • Participatory activities with local African stakeholders and staff to define skills shortages in agriculture. Two study visits in Mali and Cameroon will be conducted, a CoP will be established, and a report mapping of existing VET programmes will be developed • Capacity building training in Italy and Spain to encourage comparison with models, approaches and practices of excellence as far as pedagogical innovation, entrepreneurial skills, and sustainable and cutting-edge agricultural techniques are concerned. 47 trainers and 14 VET managers will take part to this train-the-trainers programmes, including 3 mobility flows (Italy, Spain and Cameroon) • Piloting an alternance scheme with 80 learners in the three targeted countries • Building VET-business partnership, reinforced by signing of MoUs |
