Description | JM CHAIR: “Innovation of Public Administration in EU Integration” The general objective of the proposed Jean Monnet project is to strengthen further development of the European Studies programme at the Renmin University of China (RUC) and to enhance the knowledge background on EU as a leading Innovator of public administration with the enlargement of academic network and professional practitioners of European Studies in Beijing and China. 1. Construct a consistent official curriculum of EU and European integration studies through a continuation of the existing courses and newly designed course-series “Innovation of public administration in EU Integration” in the proposal. 2. Build up a more comprehensive inter-disciplinary course-series system on EU and European integration studies through giving more attention to the course development of student-centred and outcome based learning in Chinese professional postgraduate programme (e.g. MPA, Master of Public Administration) and covering a wider range of students of natural science and engineering background. 3. Strengthening the teaching and research team, particularly focusing on the young teachers and PhD students through consolidating the EU and European integration studies platform. 4. Broaden European Union studies subject areas to the public administration domain through introducing its innovative measures in European Integration, conducting EU-China comparative research of public administration, and cultivating PhD students and young teachers as a new generation of talents in European studies. 5. The newly designed courses-series in the proposal will be conducted as a demonstration and model for the EU and European integration studies courses, especially in the Chinese professional education system. Meanwhile, various forms of courses-series promotion and diffusion will enhance the teachers’ capacity to teach and research on EU and European Studies in other colleges and universities in China. |
