Description
Description | Sooner or later we all will encounter the destroying effect of cancer – one third of humanity is directly affected by the illness, the rest are relatives. The extensive cancer research fortunately produces results. We live longer and cancer patients live longer with their disease. It is a paradox but this development leads to an increase of cancer patients. In the upcoming 10 years, the number of new cancer patients in the Interreg Deutschland-Danmark geography will increase by up to 30 percent! The development of new treatment methods and the expected high pressure through new cancer patients requires a higher inclusion of the patients and their relatives in the treatment. The superior goal of the project InnoCan is to preserve and improve the quality of cancer treatments. New technologies and methods in cancer treatments shall be used faster. Nowadays years can go by before a product in the health care sector can be used to its entire extent. To shorten this period, a German-Danish test centre shall be established which can then be used by companies which provide innovative technological solutions for the monitoring of cancer patients in the health care sector. Within the scope of the project, shorter and gentler treatment methods for five different types of cancer shall be developed. Knowledge is power. This also accounts for fighting cancer. Due to this reason, the common data base on the big types of cancer shall be broadened. Thereby it is secured that healthcare-specialized personnel can follow the improvement of the treatment methods, here regarding service level and patient satisfaction. Founded analysis of registered data, for example of cancer survivors, will in the long run contribute to improving quality of treatment. The new cancer characteristics come with new demands for future caregivers and medical treatment. Educational establishments – from universities to providers of further education – are therefore important partners in the InnoCan project. Cancer strikes everyone! And because of this reason it is so important to find common solutions comprehending different specialist expertise and this is the basic idea of the project InnoCan. |
