Description

Inox Wind Limited through its group subsidiary Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL), entered into an agreement with Gujarat Government, to develop 50MW wind power project at Chotila, District Surendranagar in the state of Gujarat. The wind farm would involve the building of 25 wind turbines of INOX WT2000DF WEG of 2MW capacity each.The electricity generated from the project would be evacuated by NEWNE grid of India or traded on energy exchanges or wheeled for captive consumption through wheeling into the grid. The EPC for the power plant had been awarded to Inox Wind Limited (IWL). IWL would develop,construct,commission operate and maintain the project at an all-inclusive price. Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited had already approached Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (Gujarat Discom )- for entering into Power Purchase Agreement. The APPC (Average Power Purchase Cost) 25-year base feed-in tariff as per GERC (Gujarat State Regulator) tariff order for 2013, was US$ 0.079/Unit (INR 4.23 per unit @ 53.44INR/USD). The transmission charges would be paid by GFL to the state transmission utility. The total capacity of 50MW was eligible for CDM benefits and the company had initiated the process with UNFCC. Details of financial closure were not available.The total project cost estimated based on UNFCC Project Design Document was at the time of financial closure was US$ 64.3mn (INR 3000mn @46.67 INR/USD).
