The project's objectives are to reduce the time and cost to comply with licensing requirements and inspections and to improve competitiveness of the agro-processing sector. This will be achieved through the following activities: --Simplifying licensing procedures for agro-processing enterprises; --Reducing the cost of obtaining export licenses for milled rice; --Introducing risk-based inspections framework and clarifying roles for inspectors; --Developing web-based applications to allow agro processors to apply for licenses online and to allow officials to operate inspections effectively; --Training officials to operate the new web-based applications; --Promoting awareness of the simplified procedures.
