The main objective of this project is to strengthen the financial management and operating capacity of EDYFICAR, and then to expand and diversify its financial services according to criteria of profitability, operating efficiency, and competitiveness. The three main activities that EDYFICAR will carry out under the project are: a. Hire specialized technical assistance to support the institution in different areas such as (i) improving management capacity and financial management; (ii) study of market niches; (iii) design of new products, including savings; (iv) environmental issues; (v) adoption and implementation of new information system modules; and (vi) upgrading credit technology. b. Offer the management and operating staff training in order to boost the institution's technical and management capacity. c. Acquire new equipment and investments in order to improve operating efficiency and management information systems. The communications systems between headquarters and the branch offices will be upgraded and the internal credit window will become operational.
