Insulet Corporation (https://www.insulet.com/) (“Insulet” or the “Company”) is a MedTech company, specializing in diabetes management solutions. The Company is planning to establish its first manufacturing facility in Latin America, dedicated to the production of its flagship product, the Omnipod® insulin management system, a tubeless insulin delivery device for people living with diabetes. The new manufacturing facility will be located within Savia Sur, a light industrial park in Heredia, Costa Rica, developed by Portafolio Inmobiliario (“Portafolio” or the “Developer”). The site’s former land use consisted of agricultural land, specifically a coffee plantation, and it is classified as modified habitat. The proposed IFC investment consists of a corporate A-loan of US$97 million, to support the construction of the facility’s cold-shell (the “Project”). The Borrower will be 3-101-939148 SA (“Savia SPV”), a special purpose vehicle responsible for managing the assets of the industrial park where the plant will be located. This SPV will be responsible for constructing the cold shell. Savia SPV is owned by the Developer and the original owners of the land. Construction is expected to progress over the 2026-2028 period. Operations are expected to go-live in 2029.
