Description

The aim of the training measure is to contribute to improving the living conditions of children and young people in particular and to ensure that communities are more resilient to conflict in the project regions through an integrated approach to improving access to basic social services. The recipient and project sponsor of the measure is the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The project consists of the integrated components 1) improving access to and quality of pre-primary, primary and secondary education through the construction of infrastructure, the distribution of materials and the implementation of teacher training; and 2) improving access to drinking water and sanitation through the construction of water and sanitation infrastructure. Both components include various awareness-raising measures on education, hygiene education and measures for conflict prevention and conflict management. The measures include infrastructure and material benefits as well as further training offers and educational measures. The financial contribution is EUR 17.0 million and the implementation period is 60 months.
