The Statistical Service of Cyprus intends to conduct a Farm Structure Survey for the reference year 2023 based on the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2018/1091 on integrated farm statistics and the relevant EU guidelines, in order to examine the trends in the structure of agricultural holdings and provide the Union with the necessary information to design, implement, monitor, evaluate and review related policies. The IFS 2023 aims to collect information on the structure and types of agricultural and livestock holdings and the characteristics of their holders. The information collected will be related to the fragmentation of holdings, land tenure, land use, crop areas, livestock numbers by breed and age, irrigation and soil management practices, machinery and equipment and rural development measures, which will contribute to the formation of policies on environmental, climate change adaptation and mitigation and land use. Information will also be collected on the characteristics of holders (age, gender, legal status, agricultural training, main occupation, etc.), on the labour force of the holdings, including other gainful activities, as well as on orchard densities and age, production methods, agro-environmental aspects, etc.
