Description

Description

This action aims to meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2018/1091, through a farm structure sample survey that will be carried out in Greece, by ELSTAT, within 2023. The specific objective of the action is the collection of data, from agricultural holdings, on basic structural variables (core data) as well as variables on some more specialized topics (modules) according to the requirements of the relevant Regulations. The weighted results will be statistically representative of the respective population of agricultural holdings within each Region, while comparability, across the EU, will be achieved by using standard classifications and common definitions for variables. For the scope of IFS 2023, ELSTAT will compile, validate, anonymise and transmit the data to Eurostat at the level of individual agricultural holdings. The data collection will be performed, through a web questionnaire, by electronic self-enumeration of the farmers (CAWI), computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI), and computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI). Most of the necessary verification checks will be applied on-the-fly. Τhe selection of holdings to be surveyed in the core dataset and in the six mandatory modules will be performed with a single sample, selected through random, stratified sampling. All managerial tasks pertaining to the implementation of the survey and the processing of the data will be performed by ELSTAT personnel. Fieldwork will be undertaken by the Regional Statistical Offices (RSOs) of ELSTAT, whereas data will be collected by external enumerators. The progress of the survey will be monitored through dedicated applications. As far as the work plan is concerned, the main activities of the action are: 1) Design and organization, 2) Preparatory tasks, 3) Field tasks, 4) Data processing and 5) Publication/transmission of the results. The duration of the action is proposed to be 24 months, starting in January 2023.
