Integrated Farm Statistics (IFS) 2026

The main project objective is to provide integrated farm structure statistics in 2026 in Bulgaria, as well as data on production methods, rural development measures and agri-environmental indicators in implementation of the Framework Regulation (EU) 2018/1091. The detailed requirements are set out in the Commission implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2914. The data is collected through statistical surveys (sample surveys), using various sources of administrative data (integrated administration and control system, VetIS (for identification and registration of farm animals), the vineyard register, the organic farm register, administrative sources for specific rural development measures). The Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF) is a national authority as indicated in Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 and it is the responsible institution in Bulgaria for organization and implementation of the integrated farm statistics data collection in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1091. The data collection purpose is to provide information on the farm structure (number of holdings, land use, animal number, management, labour input on the holding), as well as on production methods, rural development, agrienvironmental aspects, etc. The project activities are planned to start on 1 July 2025 with the preparation of a technical task for software and the development of the statistical toolkit. The data will be collected in the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 January 2027. The activities are planned to be completed by the end of 2027 with the submission of a microdata file, additional data and a quality report to Eurostat. The results of the 2026 survey for Bulgaria will be published on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in a special bilingual edition.
