Farm structure surveys are carried out to examine trends in the agricultural sector, and it is therefore necessary to update regularly the statistics used to formulate, implement, monitor, and evaluate the success and impact of the Common Agricultural Policy, rural development measures, and environmental policies. The aim of collecting statistics on farm structure is to provide updated and comparable data at Union level and to serve as a backbone for the formulation and updates of the Common Agricultural Policy. Exhaustive farm structure data collections are carried out at 10-year intervals (2000, 2010 and 2020). In the intervening years, sample surveys on farm structure were conducted in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2016, and, most recently, in 2023. The Integrated Farm Survey 2026 will be carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1091 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 July 2018 on integrated farm statistics and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2914 of 25 November 2024 on the data to be provided for the reference year 2026 pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2018/1091 of the European Parliament and of the Council on integrated farm statistics as regards the list of variables and their description. The Integrated Farm Survey 2026 will be carried out as a sample survey. Project starting date: January 2026 Closing date: March 2028 Completion of the project will be realised through the transmission of mandatory deliverables: (1) Validated core and module data (both as anonymised microdata) and (2) a Quality Report for all data collections.
