The project aims to improve access to high-quality technical vocational training in grades 10 to 12 that is geared to the needs of the Guatemalan labor market. Disadvantaged young people from rural areas in particular are to benefit from the improved offer in the secondary school sector. Important individual measures concern the rehabilitation and new construction of schools and the procurement of school equipment, including laboratories and workshops. The development and updating of curricula is also to be financed. MINEDUC's own contribution will primarily finance salaries and the training of teachers, scholarships for school education and professional internships. The total cost of the project is EUR 27.9 million. The term is set at 5 years. The FC contribution amounts to EUR 21 million, which is to be provided in the form of integrated joint financing (IVF) on ODA terms. The Ministry of Education is to make its own contribution of EUR 6.9 million.
