Description
Description | iMUGS2 aims to advance the innovative technologies developed under the previous iMUGS project, focusing on unmanned ground systems (UGS), with higher levels of autonomy and interoperability for European defence forces. The iMUGS2 project aims to develop an unmanned ground system capable of manned-unmanned and unmanned-unmanned teaming with other robotic unmanned platforms and manned infantry vehicles to provide them full battlefield support. The proposed solution will feature a modular, multi-agent system architecture, incorporating autonomy and swarming technologies, among others. The iMUGS2 solution aims to be free from any non-EU export control restrictions, balances performance and cost-effectiveness, reducing ownership costs through high maintainability and improved life cycle efficiency, while offering flexible, scalable procurement options that accelerate and future-proof capability acquisitions for European armed forces. iMUGS2 will create an open ecosystem and large-scale European collaboration that will pave the way to enhanced unmanned capabilities ready for procurement and integration into EU forces by 2030. This will increase the competitive advantage of European companies in the worldwide UGS industry, fostering economic growth and high-tech job creation. |
