Economic/Social Impact of the Project The proposed project aims to establish an integrated pack house and processing facility in Meghalaya to address the missing gaps in the agriculture sector of the state. The facility will serve as a centralized hub for the processing and packaging of different agricultural commodities, including fruits, vegetables, and spices. Facilities include equipment for collection, cleaning, washing, sorting/ grading, pre-cooling, packing, Handheld Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) instrument, Hot water dip treatment, etc. and processing facilities for addressing missing gaps. By providing these facilities, the project aims to reduce post-harvest losses and increase the income of farmers in the state by creating a value-added product. Additionally, the project will create job opportunities and stimulate the local economy.
