RADICAL is a project focused on monitoring the concentration inside buildings Radon in the air, present in high concentrations in the border and recognized as second leading cause of death from lung cancer. The project stems from the availability of a Radon detector with high sensitivity and low-cost, developed in the context of a project International co-ordinated by the University of Insubria. RADICAL develops instrumental aspects Radon and risk management on the basis of micro or macro networks remotely operated detectors. The consortium proposing includes developers (research institutes) and local authorities to detection, monitoring and environmental consultancy (ARPA Piemonte, ARPA Valle d'Aosta, Competence Center Radon SUPSI), support for dissemination by local governments (provinces concerned).
