Integrating Smart Technologies in Basketball Training

In a sports world increasingly reliant on digital technologies, many basketball coaches lack access to modern tools that could enhance their training methods and improve player development. The TechBALL project was created to address this gap by providing basketball coaches with the knowledge and resources necessary to integrate advanced digital technologies into their training processes. Through international workshops in Serbia and Slovenia, coaches will have the opportunity to learn about the latest digital tools, video analytics, and player performance tracking technologies. Following these international sessions, each partner will organize local workshops, where at least 10 coaches per country will apply their newly acquired knowledge and share it within their local sports communities. This training cascade model ensures long-term knowledge transfer and helps build a network of modern, tech-savvy basketball coaches capable of driving innovation in the sport. The highlight of the project will be a final event in Croatia, where coaches will gather for a large international basketball tournament and seminar, bringing together over 150 participants. This event will provide a platform for further exchange of experiences, networking opportunities, and professional development, ensuring that European basketball continues to innovate, professionalize, and remain accessible to all. Through TechBALL, we are not only enhancing the quality of basketball coaching, but also promoting inclusivity, international cooperation, and long-term sustainability in sports education. Our goal is simple – to equip coaches with the knowledge and tools they need to inspire and develop the next generation of basketball players.
