The primary goal of the iEBRA project is to boost the zero-energy building renovation of European building stock by improving the availability, accuracy, quality and access to building data, while assisting building stakeholders in enhancing the energy, environmental and financial assessment of building renovation scenarios. This will be achieved by fostering the adoption of an integrative BIM-based ecosystem of tools and services for zero-energy building renovation - Smart B-Renov Toolbox and Open Digital Hub -, and by delivering a tailored capacity building tackling the key aspects of deep energy renovation in 3 different pilot regions. Following a co-design approach, iEBRA empowers building renovation stakeholders such as building designers, financial institutions and service providers with essential building renovation decision-making tools and services, supporting the EU’s goals for zero-energy buildings. The Smart B-Renov Toolbox and the Open Digital Hub integrate robust harmonised building databases, reliable data collection protocols and innovative modules such as digital inspection using augmented and virtual reality or monetization frameworks for evaluation of non-economic co-benefits. These tools offer data-driven decision-making with enhanced energy, environmental and financial assessment of renovation scenarios and foster collaboration among stakeholders by promoting data exchange across different platforms. iEBRA capacity building includes a range of activities designed to provide participants with detailed knowledge in Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), financial and inspection protocols in the context of NZEB renovations. This hands-on approach ensures stakeholders are fully prepared to apply the iEBRA solutions effectively in their renovation projects.
