Description | The Interborough Express (IBX) is a planned 14-mile light rail line linking the Brooklyn and Queens boroughs of New York City. The project aims to connect historically underserved communities to each other and to existing subway, bus, and Long Island Rail Road systems, reducing travel times by 30 minutes in either direction. The design and engineering contract for the project has been awarded to a joint venture of HDR and Jacobs. Design work will focus on communication and signal systems, vehicles, tracks, stations, retaining walls, bridge reconstruction, and the operations facility and storage yard. |
