Interborough Express Light-Rail Line

The Interborough Express is a proposed 14-mile light-rail line connecting central Queens to southern Brooklyn along an existing but little-used freight railway. The project involves preparing the 19th-century freight corridor for passenger service, including relocation of utilities, demolition of structures, construction of new bridges, retaining walls, and potentially a tunnel beneath All Faiths Cemetery. It will connect to 17 subway lines, the Long Island Rail Road, and over 40 bus routes, serving nearly a million residents and 260,000 workers along the route.
