Description

Description

The project addresses the need for targeted consumer education in Slovenia, focusing on adolescents and seniors who face unique marketplace challenges. Adolescents on the way to independence, need skills and knowledge in consumer rights, basic financial literacy, and digital safety. On the other hand, seniors often struggle with complex consumer information and digital environments, making them vulnerable to scams. This project provides tailored education to empower these often neglected vulnerable groups ensuring they make smart consumer decisions. The project proposal addresses the objective of enhancing consumer education in individual citizen groups. Building awareness and presenting the tools to seek local advice, further focusing on digital and financial literacy, and sustainable consumption. It uses multimedia and traditional media for broad accessibility and engagement in both target groups within the project duration and beyond. For adolescents, the project offers educational materials and multimedia content to equip them with essential consumer skills. For seniors, it provides accessible education through TV, RA and online platform, adapted to their needs. This dual approach ensures a broad reach and significant impact, empowering them as consumers to make informed decisions and protect themselves from unfair practices. Dedicated high school lesson materials for adolescents promote early-stage consumer education. A multimedia platform and traditional media ensure wide dissemination and accessibility. The project includes accessibility features in multimedia, like subtitles and sign language for the deaf and large subtitles for the vision-impaired, ensuring inclusivity. The cooperation of the national consumer organisation (ZPS) and the national public broadcasting service (RTV Slovenija) enhances the project's capacity to deliver high-quality educational content, leveraging the national outreach of the project and creating sustainable educational resources
