The hospital features a rooftop helipad and a layout designed for care efficiency and rapid ICU room conversions. The north end of the site was raised by 26 ft to mitigate flood risk, involving 250,000 cu yd of structural fill and a large retaining wall. The project faced supply chain disruptions and labor shortages, mitigated by early bid packages, prefabrication, and dividing work scopes among local subcontractors. Prefabrication accounted for nearly 25% of materials, reducing labor costs by 5%, saving $6 million, and shortening the timeline by four months. |
