Description
Description | The Karnataka state government is constructing an international-standard cricket stadium at Suryanagar in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The stadium is expected to have a seating capacity of around 80,000, making it the second-largest cricket stadium in India after the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat. The project aims to drive tourism, employment generation, and economic growth in the region. It is being undertaken jointly by the Housing Department and the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) and is estimated to cost around Rs 943 crore. The stadium will be built entirely using KHB funds without government financial assistance. The area around the stadium will eventually be developed into a sports village. |
