Description

Description

Through IFFR’s visionary programming and forward-looking initiatives, we create a haven for the plurality of voices, audiovisual formats and diverse storytelling. Our programme deepens appreciation of cinema in all its forms, broadens and diversifies audiences, and creates opportunities for filmmakers and artists around the globe. We support filmmakers with funding and development opportunities and advance the impact of their work in the world. Through screenings, talks, exhibitions, education, professional initiatives and funding schemes we bring people from all backgrounds together, enabling discovery, recognition dialogue, learning and development. We open a space for ideas, pushing creative boundaries that have the power to transform. IFFR developed a five-year strategic framework for 2025-2029 to achieve our goals and increase our impact, rooted in six themes: 1. Discovering and nurturing bold, emerging voices in cinema and audiovisual arts, focusing on showcasing the richness and diversity of underrepresented regions from boundary-pushing to popular works. 2. Creating opportunities for (inter)national filmmaking and immersive talent and deepening the impact of IFFR’s various industry programmes and funding schemes. 3. Strengthening IFFR’s global reach and its position in the international film festival calendar. 4. Enriching IFFR’s connection with the people, character and spirit of Rotterdam. 5. Growing and diversifying IFFR’s audience with a clear commitment to inclusion, learning and access. 6. Building a sustainable, equitable and inclusive organisation with clear structures, robust planning, strong partnerships, open communications and diversified revenue streams. This five-year strategic framework has clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and regular reviews, embedding long-term resilience into the festival’s operations. And serves as a blueprint for achieving IFFR’s objectives for the editions in 2026 and 2027.
