International Joint Master in Innovative Leather Technology

LEATECH project with UdL as mono-beneficiary, will reinforce the skills of three EU Universities (UdL-Spain, ITECH-France, EGE-Turkey) and one academic institution from a Partner Country (CIATEC-Mexico) to develop an innovative Joint Master Degree in Innovative Leather Technology, designed to tackle the latest technologies in leather production according to the needs of the international market; modernising the curricula and the teaching practices. COTANCE, the employers’ umbrella organisation of the EU tanning industry; will be dedicated to the promotion and materialisation of student recruitment and subsequent employment thereof internationally. Green Deal policies to tackle with the implementation at the operational environment of new innovative sustainable technologies for leather manufacture will be included; and involving underrepresented countries of Turkey and Mexico, as well as the unrepresented institutions of ITECH, EGE, CIATEC and the Leather Technology Sector in the Erasmus Mundus Catalogue. The project is organised in one WP and 12 tasks, 15 deliverables will be submitted. The objectives and expected results of the project are the following: -To launch of a new transnational study programme at the Master level (EQF-7); enhancing the academic cooperation between UdL, EGE, ITECH and CIATEC; developing a Joint Master Degree with a modernised curriculum and teaching practices. An Integrated Joint Master Academic Programme, physical mobility of the students; students’ admission, progression, recognition and certification mechanisms, as well as the student recruitment joint strategy and the joint services offer will be deliverables of the project. - A joint quality assurance mechanism, joint policies, joint accreditation mechanism and recognition of the ECTS-credits will be implemented. The EHEA tools for quality assurance, the framework of qualifications will be delivered, besides that a Draft Partnership Agreement and a Draft Student Agreement.
