Description
Description | The rapid increase in human population is directly proportional increment in the contaminated sites, which exhibits a global threat not just to the human health, but also to ecycsystms and economies. This realization has led to an increased pressure and desire for remdiation and rehabilitation of previously ill-treated soil and land protection and necessitates a proactive innovation for sustainable remediation solutions. This Erasmus Mundus International Master on sustainable remediation (IM-SURE) is designed to address these critical needs by educating future leaders of environment with cutting-edge, and data-driven approaches (like remote sensing, modeling, artificial intelligence, and machine learning) integrating sustainability into the environmental remediation projects. IM-SURE will equip graduates with the baseline knowledge and skills to apply diverse remediation methods (nature-based, chemical, physical, and integrated), while considering environmental, economic, and social factors. Further, the interdisciplinary curriculum of IM-SURE will integrate principles of sustainable remediation, circular economy, and engineering and technological innovations, with possibility to learn from the field application with the help of applied industrial collaboration and training through mobility and collaboration. Graduates are expected to serve diverse roles in public and private sectors, driving sustainable transformation and addressing real-world challenges related to soil and water contamination, contributing to a circular economy and a healthy environment. |
