Description

Description

INVEST aims to strengthen young volunteers and promote volunteering in sports non-profit organizations by providing comprehensive educational opportunities. With the functioning and well-being of sports organizations being highly reliant on volunteers, it is essential to target modern day challenges to keep volunteers motivated and to motivate new ones to step up. Surveys show that many volunteers never receive induction training or ongoing training during their work, often due to lack of time, budget, capacity, or know-how. Targeting individuals aged 17-30, the project seeks to address challenges. Through a series of educational congresses, including workshops and discussion rounds in an international setting, participants will develop personal skills, intercultural competences, and a deeper understanding of volunteering's importance in society. Key indicators for measuring achievement include self-assessment, learning outcomes, and visibility of the program through presentations, articles, and social media coverage. By fostering a skilled and empowered community of volunteers, the project aims to inspire increased volunteerism and contribute to the sustainable growth of recreational sports programs across Europe. The methodology involves online meetings, in-person gatherings, and partnerships aimed at promoting cooperation, peer learning, and the exchange of best practices among organizations. Through innovative approaches and trans-national collaboration, the project seeks to enhance the quality of volunteer work, build capacity within partner organizations, and create long-lasting learning and networking opportunities. Additionally, the project emphasizes inclusivity and active European citizenship by welcoming participants from diverse backgrounds and fostering a sense of community and belonging through sports.
