Description

Description

Launched in 2017 by the European Commission, Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) offers young people (18-30) the chance to support Interreg programmes, projects, and Macro-Regional Strategies across Europe. Volunteers serve as Interreg Reporters or Interreg Project Partners, promoting solidarity and cooperation. IVY promotes solidarity, youth engagement and European belonging by increasing awareness of Cohesion Policy and Territorial Cooperation. It fosters active citizenship, youth mobility, and skill development, contributing to European integration and sustainable regional development. From March 2017 (until June 2025), AEBR has been implementing Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) with more than 1,000 young volunteers effectively deployed in most Interreg programmes, having shown for eight years to have the knowledge as well as the operational capacities to implement that action effectively, even under very unexpected circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises.
