Interstate 5 Bridge Replacement Project

Plans for a new bridge over Interstate 5 connecting Vancouver and Portland are in progress. The project includes a new pair of Columbia River bridges west of the existing structure, considering three configuration options: a single-level fixed-span, a double-deck fixed-span, and a single-level movable-span. It also aims to improve the I-5 mainline and seven interchanges north and south of the Columbia River, with enhancements to the local street network. Additionally, a proposal to extend light rail from Portland to Vancouver with transit improvements is being considered.
