Description

Description

For the first time in Iran, this module aims to teach topics related to EU trade policies and the foundations and values on which these policies are based in the form of three summer schools. Until now, there has been no formal (or even informal) training on EU trade policies in Iran's scientific and educational institutions, and this module is the first important step in this direction. The design of this module is based on Iran's essential needs for training on EU trade policies in three sections: academia, civil society (private sector) and policymaking. Accordingly, the main audience of this module is divided into three categories: 1) Students of European Studies, International Political Economy, International Relations, International Business Management and International Trade Law 2) Economic actors in chambers of commerce and business companies 3) Policy makers in the trade and commerce sectors. The method of work in this module is to define three summer schools that move from basics to more advanced topics, and besides, to design roundtables and workshops for policymakers. In this way, a wide range of audiences interested in gaining knowledge of EU trade policies can benefit from the educational aims of this module. Our main goals in this module are divided into two categories: educational and policy making. These main goals are: Educational: To improve the quantitative and qualitative level of education on EU trade policies in Iranian universities Policymaking: To familiarize policymakers and chambers of commerce with the general principles and foundations of EU trade policies The main achievements of the implementation of this module are: Short-term: increase in awareness of EU policies among the audiences (academic, civil society and policy-making); Medium-term: increasing the volume of research in the field of EU trade policies; Long-term: Direct impact on bilateral trade relations between Iran and the European Union
