Description

Description

The implementation of the COICOP 2018 requires extensive measures in the German statistical system. Most prominent ones are that current survey positions of Germany?s national CPI have to be reassigned to the newly introduced COICOP 2018, new survey positions have to be defined for the survey, coordination with the statistical offices of the individual federal states, carrying out most of the price surveys, will be indispensable and therefore time-consuming, and also the backward calculation might be hard to manage within a reasonable timeframe. Additional personnel resources as well as consultations with Eurostat and other NSIs will facilitate these measures.
