Description | This project consists of the rehabilitation of the Inuvik Airport runway, taxiway, and drainage systems to address the new climatic norms and changes in hydrology of this area due to permafrost thaw. Once complete, this project will increase the reliability of air transportation for the 7,000 people in the Beaufort Delta Region, increase resilience and prevent failure or disruption of this critical piece of infrastructure. It is also anticipated that the project will result in significant savings in long-term recovery and replacement costs. |
