Description
Description | Core problem In addition to health consequences, the COVID-19 pandemic in Tunisia has also had significant negative economic consequences, which will have a particularly strong impact on poor population groups - and especially children - with considerable consequences for their education, nutrition and health situation. The largely informal activities for generating income among poor population groups will be impaired or eliminated. Module objective By 2021, the temporary transfer payment program to be created as part of the project will have mitigated the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 and increased access to essential services for specifically selected, vulnerable children. It will help to build a sustainable, child-sensitive and responsive social security protection system. This will give children and young people in particular a fair chance to develop their full potential. Key outputs As part of the project, transfer payments will be made to favored, pre-selected households for social security for children and young people aged 0 - 18. In addition, communication campaigns are being carried out on the relevance of school attendance, balanced nutrition, vaccinations, child well-being and the existing national complaints mechanism. Target group The target group are the vulnerable population groups in Tunisia affected by the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially children and young people. Contribution to the national implementation of Agenda 2030 The project contributes to achieving several of the Agenda's goals: poverty reduction (SDG 1), ending hunger, food security (SDG 2), good health and well-being (SDG 3) and quality education (SDG 4). |
