Invisible Painting is a transnational cooperation project that reimagines how contemporary abstract art can be interpreted and experienced through inclusive, multisensory methods. It aims to create a shared interpretative model that empowers blind and partially sighted individuals as equal participants and co-creators, while also making abstract art more accessible and emotionally engaging for wider audiences—especially those who feel excluded from traditional art discourse. The project will deliver a replicable model of sensory translation (linking colours and shapes to sound, scent, texture and taste), a narrative-based audiodescription methodology, and an open-access toolkit for creating tactile graphics using AI-supported tools. These elements will be developed and tested through co-creation processes and public events in Poland, Slovenia and the Netherlands, and made available online via an interactive learning platform. By combining artistic innovation with participatory methods and universal design, the project contributes to the objectives of the Creative Europe programme. It promotes inclusion and diversity, supports digital transformation, and fosters cross-border cooperation between cultural institutions, educators, accessibility experts and communities. In the long term, the model will be transferable across sectors such as education, mental health and tourism, supporting a broader cultural shift toward accessible and shared artistic experiences.
