Description

Description

Resistance Against Disinformation for the Democratic Rights Strenghtening the resistance against disinformation and political manipulation of Roma communities in four EU-countries. Project aims at mapping the creation and spreading disinformation, fake news and manipulative political messages in segregated Roma communities and running empowerment activities in other communities; preparing recommendations for professionals, activists for the efficient communication in order to make these people able to reflect to information, become critical with political messages. Ultimate aim of the project is making the Roma citizens more active in the democratic decision making, using the right to vote and use their voice in the democratic debates. Majority (non-Roma) society is an in-direct target-group of the project because in the communication part of the project manipulative actions will be presented proving that people without right information cannot use their right for voting and other democratic rights. Women in Roma communities are main target-group because even within otherwise completely segregated communities, they are more vulnerable to their democratic rights. Dissemination part of the project will use both national and international networks in which partner organisations take active roles. Results and recommendation will not only presented but used by ERGO Network which incorporates 30 Roma and pro-Roma NGOs in almost every EU-country where significant Roma communities live. Project will be implemented in consortium of well-experienced Roma and pro-Roma organizations and cooperation of civil and academic sectors.
