The trail is constructed on a vacant railroad line purchased by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in 2013 and is being paved with concrete, wide enough for users and emergency vehicles. The project includes bridge replacements and new bridge installations to facilitate outdoor recreation activities such as walking, running, bicycling, wildlife viewing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. |
