Description | A multibillion-dollar natural gas project under development by the Intermountain Power Agency to replace coal-fired operations at the Intermountain Power Plant. The project includes two planned units, with one unit starting commercial operations in October 2025 and the second scheduled for later in December 2025. The new facilities will also be capable of using hydrogen to produce 840 megawatts and store hydrogen in underground caverns for use through natural gas turbines, providing long-duration energy storage. |
