Description
Description | The IQI13 project was qualified at the 9th Meeting of the PPI Council through Resolution No. 52, of 05/08/2019, converted into Decree No. 9,972, of 08/14/2019. It is a greenfield port terminal lease, with 32,078 m², dedicated to the movement of liquid bulk, especially fuel, in the Port of Itaqui/MA. The future lessee must pay for the implementation of the terminal's entire infrastructure for the operation of liquid bulk, including buildings, tanks, pipes, as well as the equipment to be used in the operation, with the expected installation of approximately 78,722 m3 of capacity static, and area forecast for future tank expansion. For this, investments of around R$ 178.5 million are planned. The Port of Itaqui's main cargo is fuel: according to its Master Plan, in 2016, 5.9 million tons of petroleum derivatives were handled, expected to reach 17.9 million tons in 2060, following an average rate growth of 1.7% per year. The flows that are expected to show the highest growth rate are imports of petroleum derivatives, with an average rate of 1.9% per year, with greater growth in the short term, of 12.1% per year between 2016 and 2020. Itaqui complex functions as a distribution hub for the north and northeast regions: the unloaded fuel serves the local market and the regions of Maranhão, Tocantins, Pará and Mato Grosso, in addition to being stored in the hinterland of Porto and shipped in cabotage navigation , to supply other nearby states. The studies were prepared by the Maranhense Port Administration Company (EMAP) and will be evaluated by the EPL. The ongoing modeling foresees the concession of the area for a period of 20 years, with a 4-year pre-operational period for the construction of the terminal. The assignment will be promoted through a bidding process in the auction format, with the selection criterion being the Highest Grant Value. |
