Description

Description

The aim of the project is to contribute to improving the economic and social living conditions for internally displaced persons and the local population. In the medium term, this should also create opportunities for internally displaced persons to return to Mosul. In component I, this is to be achieved through employment-intensive rehabilitation of housing in Mosul. The measures are to rehabilitate 7,693 apartments/houses in West and East Mosul. As part of the employment-intensive measures, 4,671 workers are to be employed for the rehabilitation measures for at least two months. The implementation is accompanied by a UNDP team leader, two social workers and ten engineers on site. Component II includes labor-intensive measures for reconstruction and for the repair of local infrastructure (cash for work). This is to create 1,325 temporary job opportunities. The project is being implemented within the framework of the FFIS and represents an extension of the CfW measures of the first phase (BMZ No. 2017 40 836).
