Description

Description

The aim of the SI measure is to improve income security and socio-economic inclusion of internally displaced persons, returnees and the host population in the target areas by creating short, medium and long-term income and employment opportunities. The direct target group includes returnees affected by the consequences of the conflict and the economic crisis, internally displaced persons and the local population. The needs of particularly vulnerable target groups, such as female-headed households and people with disabilities as well as young people, are taken into account. Key measures include activities to create short, medium and long-term income and employment opportunities and to improve the framework conditions for the (re-)building of livelihoods for returnees, internally displaced persons and the local population. Cash for Work (CfW) measures, cash grants for female-headed households and the creation of short-term employment opportunities through the rehabilitation of residential buildings to mitigate the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic are being implemented. Furthermore, activities are being implemented to create short-term employment opportunities through the rehabilitation of agricultural infrastructure and the reconstruction of agriculture is being supported by providing training, production resources or grants. To support the private sector, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) receive grants, training and mentoring. To improve the supply of labor, professional training is being offered in relevant sectors. Temporary employment opportunities are being created through the rehabilitation of commercial premises.
