Description | The Irrigation Sector Project will assist the Government in planning and utilizing its water resources in a harmonized, effective and sustainable manner. The project has three components: a) Finalization of a Comprehensive Water Resources Strategy and formulation of a Consolidated Water Policy; b) Irrigation sector improvement and development, it includes improvement of productivity and sustainability of irrigation systems on 59,600 ha in accordance of HMGN s Irrigation Policy (IP); and c) Institutional strengthening, this component will support the strengthening of the implementing agencies to ensure proper implementation of components A and B, and strengthening the Government's technical and institutional capacity in water data collection, planning and management of irrigated agriculture. |
