Pursuant to an international tender, Interconnecion Electrica S.A. E.S.P. (ISA), Colombia''s national transmission company, was awarded a 32-year BOOT concession to build, own, and operate two transmission lines in central Peru. The project comprises:The construction and operation of a 242 km 220 kV primary power transmission line in the highlands of central Peru, linking the substations of Oroya, Carhuamayo, Paragsha and Vizcarra. The line will transmit electricity generated at the main power plants in the region to mining centers, cement plants, agro-industries, and residential areas. The altitude of the terrain covered by the right-of-way of the transmission line varies from 4,000 to 4550 m above sea level. This portion will also include the expansion of two substations (Oroya and Vizcarra) and construction of two new substations. One substation will be built near the old substation of Carhuamayo (on the road to Paucartambo) and the other one will be build on a 4-hectare vacant lot adjacent to the old Paragsha substation.The construction and operation of a 131 km 138 kV secondary transmission line in the northeastern section of the Amazon region, linking the substations of Pucallpa and Aguaytia. The secondary line will connect the Pucallpa power system to the national grid, which will increase the reliability of power supply to the region. The line will also contribute to the electrification of the provinces of Coronel Portillo and Padre Abad. This portion of the project also includes the expansion of two substations (Aguaytia and Parque Industrial Pucallpa).
