Description

Description

It takes a village is a 3-year Humanitarian Aid volunteering programme designed for teams focusing on empowering vulnerable communities and cultivating solidarity by working together with rural village residents on issues such as: water, education, housing, environment, youth and women empowerment. With tasks and goals that support the village infrastructure to have a higher quality and more sustainable daily living. In total we would like to include 48 volunteers, 32 with fewer opportunities - throughout 3 years. First year in Tanzania with 12 volunteers for 45 days, second year in Vietnam with 12 volunteers for 45 days and in the third year we would revisit both rural villages in Tanzania and Vietnam with 2 teams of 45 days with 12-12 people to continue the work the group has done, and to strengthen our objectives. Through supporting locals with the issues mentioned we can create a journey from “me” to “we”. Our intention is to not overpower and come up with solutions, but rather to empower and work together with the community. We are aiming to create solidarity, become one with the village, hence create a larger local impact. It takes a village to create change. We promote a holistic and inclusive solidarity design with indigenous methodology inspired learning elements for a comprehensive volunteering experience for all participating
