Italian rescEU Transition 2022

Italy will participate in the rescEU transition 2022 by ensuring rapid access to its national aerial forest firefighting module to address temporary shortcomings in case of extraordinary forest fires to guarantee a timely and effective fire fighting response as of June 15th 'til October 31st 2022. Indeed Italy will make available in rescEU transition n.1·aerial forest firefighting capacity using planes module, that will be registered in the rescEU capacity folder. Such a capacity has proven to have all the quality requirements as detailed in the Annex of the Implementing Decision 2019/570/EU. Italy furthermore confirms to be capable of carrying out interventions such as pre-positioning, rapid intervention (less than 24 hours) and deployment. The rescEUIT module will be strategically and geographically positioned in Ciampino, central ltaly, to allow for quick and effective deployment to different risk prone areas, mainly inside Europe.
