The Third Industrial Credit Project will fulfill Oesterreichische Investitionskredit A.G. (IVK) request for a loan from the Bank to replenish its resources in order to meet the continued demand for long-term loans in Austria. This project will finance IVK long-term loans for the expansion and modernization of industry. The need for such an institution as IVK in Austria, already an industrialized country, arises primarily from the absence of an adequate capital market to which industry, particularly small and medium-sized, can turn for funds. It will enable IVK to maintain the tempo of its operations while at the same time providing additional time for it to establish its credit in private capital markets.
