IVY CREEK GREENWAY - PHASE I

This project will consist of a 12' wide paved multi-use trail with a restroom facility at the trail head. The trail will tie into an existing paved asphalt trail which begins at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center parking lot. From the end of the existing trail, the route will travel west/northwest through the woods to a small tributary stream. The trail will cross the tributary with an elevated boardwalk, north of the nearby restrictive covenant area. From there the trail will travel southwest, running parallel with the slope toward Ivy Creek. Near the sewer easement, the trail will cross over Ivy Creek with a bridge (located above the 100-year flood level) and then connect to a boardwalk structure that will slope down to grade inside the sewer easement. The trail will terminate in the sewer easement at the base of the boardwalk at an overlook/rest area. A future phase will extend this trail to connect to other nearby county trails.
