Description | The purpose of this project is to complete an urgent upgrade / replacement of an existing Air Handler Unit (AHU) at IWK Health which is nearing end of life, in poor condition, and is impacting corporate activities and patient care (Note - the IWK provides tertiary care to children of the Maritimes). The current AHU has inadequate capacity to accommodate current needs, let alone the needs associated with any renovations / upgrades within the building. The new AHU will help ensure the IWK maintains adequate air flow/exchanges and temperatures in the building. Design work for the new AHU has been completed. Funding is required to procure, construct, and install a new AHU. The location / scope of the project will be contained within the property (~500m2 developed property) of the IWK owned buildings and property, not near any bodies of water or undeveloped lands. |
