Description	The proposed investment is a loan to IZSU, to help to finance the expansion of the Cigli WWTP serving a population of 3 million within the service area of the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir. A WWTP has been built in Cigli in three parallel phases over 2000-2001. Due to rapid population growth, the facility is currently operating near maximum capacity (it treats an average of 584,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day versus a maximum capacity of 605,000 cubic meters per day). IZSU intends to build a fourth phase which would expand treatment capacity to 821,000 cubic meters per day.
