The plant was originally scheduled to close on May 31, but federal orders extended its operation through November 19, 2025. The plant began operations in 1962 and generates nearly 1,500 megawatts of electricity. Retirement and restoration work on the property is planned to begin in 2025 and continue until 2030. |
